HawKar at the United Nations : Bringing the Voice of Inclusion to the Global Stage
The halls of the United Nations recently echoed with a powerful message that resonated far beyond diplomatic corridors: Mobility is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right. This message, delivered by HawKar’s CEO, Khadija Jallouli, as a Global Youth Representative, marks a pivotal moment in the global accessibility movement & reinforces our unwavering commitment to transforming how the world views & addresses mobility challenges.

A Voice for the Voiceless
Standing before the international community at the UN, our CEO, Khadija Jallouli, carried more than just words, she carried the collective hopes, dreams & struggles of millions worldwide who face mobility barriers daily. This historic moment wasn’t just about one person’s journey to the podium; it was about amplifying the voices of those who have long been marginalized & overlooked in discussions about transportation & accessibility.
Representing global youth at one of the world’s most emblematic spaces for international dialogue was a profound honor for HawKar. Our presence at the United Nations marks a major milestone in our mission to ensure accessible mobility for all! This powerful moment allowed us to elevate the voices of people with disabilities & reduced mobility on a global scale, shedding light on the challenges they face and the practical solutions we are developing every day.
Through our participation at the United Nations, we had the opportunity to showcase & highlight our commitment to inclusion. Representing HawKar through our CEO, Khadija Jallouli, during this international gathering meant standing up for the values we deeply believe in: inclusion, dignity & independence. This speech was not just a testimony, it was the embodiment of a deep commitment to a fundamental right too often overlooked: The right to move freely.
At HawKar, we understand that behind every statistic about disability & mobility lies a human story of resilience, determination & the fundamental desire for independence. Our mission transcends the creation of adapted vehicles; we are building bridges to dignity, freedom & full participation in society.

The Current Global Landscape
The timing of this UN address couldn’t be more crucial. Recent developments in disability rights legislation worldwide demonstrate both progress & the urgent need for continued advocacy. The European Commission’s ongoing work on the European Accessibility Act & the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities across EU countries underscore the global recognition that accessibility is not optional, it’s essential.
However, significant gaps remain. While policy frameworks exist, the practical implementation of mobility solutions for people with disabilities often falls short of what’s needed. Traditional transportation infrastructure continues to fail those who need it most, creating barriers to employment, education, healthcare & social participation.
HawKar’s Innovative Response
As a recognized startup by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer in 2022, HawKar has been at the forefront of addressing these challenges through innovative electric mobility solutions.
